Study for People with Type 2 Diabetes who Take Metformin

1. Study commitment of up to 43 weeks
2. 15 in office visits and several phone visits
3. Continuous glucose monitor for 10 days at 3 different time points
4. 24 hour blood pressure monitoring on 2 occasions
5. Multiple blood draws
6. Daily injection of investigational study medicine with an easy-to-use injection pen once a week or a pill

1. Must be 18 – 75 years of age with a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes for more than 3 months
2. BMI > 23 with a HbA1c 7.0 – 10%
3. Must be on a stable dose of specific diabetic medications;
4. Other participation criteria will be discussed with the study team
