RSV and Pneumonia Vaccine Research Study

Join an RSV and Pneumonia Vaccine research study that could benefit you and your community

We are looking for adult volunteers to take part in the Gemini Study, a combination RSV and Pneumonia Vaccine research study that aims to learn whether a potential new (investigational) vaccine works to prevent 2 seasonal respiratory viruses, called respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and human metapneumovirus (hMPV). Both viruses cause symptoms like those of a common cold and can lead to serious illness in older adults.

The Gemini Study will last about 2 years. You will have about 7 study visits, either at a study site or by phone.

If you volunteer for the study, you will be assigned by chance to receive either the potential new vaccine or a placebo (both called the “study product”). A placebo does not contain any actual vaccine. You will have 1 injection in Year 1 of the study, during the RSV/hMPV season. You will also have 1 injection during the same season in Year 2 of the study.

Respiratory Syncytial Virus and Human MetaPneumoVirus

To possibly take part, you must:

  • be 60 years of age or older
  • agree to attend study site visits.

There are other criteria you must meet to take part. You will receive the study product and medical care at no cost to you.

To find out more about the study or if you have any questions or concerns, please click on the link here to fill out an interest form. There is no obligation, and study participation is voluntary. By contacting us, you do not have to take part in the study.
